PPP lawmaker’s 16-year-old son killed in car collision

Former provincial minister and Pakistan Peoples Party ( PPP ) MPA Rubina Qaimkhani’s 16-year-old son was killed in a road accident in Karachi on Friday.

According to preliminary investigations, the teenager’s SUV overturned near Village Restaurant on Karachi’s Sea View Road supposedly because of overspeeding.

Following the incident, police and rescue authorities rushed to the site and shifted the two to a private hospital, however, Hamza Qaimkhani, the solitary son of PPP legislator, succumbed to his injuries.

A man accompanying Hamza, identified as Afsaryab Khan was critically injured and is still under observation.

Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah and provincial Home Minister Suhail Anwar Sial went to Qaimkhani’s residence to offer condolences. Sial additionally guided DIG Traffic Karachi to submit a detailed report regarding the accident.

Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also expressed grief and distress over the death of Hamza.Bilawal sympathized with Rubina Qaimkhani and offered condolence to her and other individuals of the bereaved family.

Let it be known that Rubina Qaimkhani was elected to the National Assembly as a PPP candidate on a seat reserved for ladies from Sindh in 2002.

She was further elected in 2008 and served as federal parliamentary secretary for human rights during her second residency as MNA.

Rubina was elected to the Sindh Assembly as a candidate of PPP in 2013 and later on she became a member of the Sindh cabinet.
