Leading Chinese Smartphone brand, OPPO, has finally unveiled the latest addition to their Selfie Expert Series, OPPO F9. Though the specs and details about the highly anticipated F9 were only officially announced at the launch, a large chunk of it had already become public knowledge due to an overwhelming number of leaks and rumours that had already been abuzz.
The OPPO F9 has placed more emphasis on its rear camera by utilising a Dual Rear Camera setup in contrast to OPPO’s more selfie-driven marketing approach.
When it comes to notch screens, you either hate them or you love them. With the F9, OPPO has managed to find a middle ground for both point of views by minimizing the notch down to a ‘waterdrop’ design.
That’s not all the F9 is bringing to the table however. With this phone OPPO is not only offering a micro USB charging port to power up its 3500 mAh battery but also OPPO’S lightning-fast VOOC charging.
Not one to forget aesthetic appeal either, the OPPO F9 comes in two exquisite colours: Sunrise Red and Twilight Blue. The back panels shift colours as the light hits them from different angles. Combined with the petal-shaped pattern on the back, the F9 offers a truly unique and stunning look for users.
The F9 offers two memory variants of 64GB Built-in memory with either 4GB RAM or 6GB RAM. Although it offers an upgrade in terms of RAM, the chipset however is the same as the previous OPPO smartphone, the F7.
|Screen Resolution||2280 x 1080 pixels|
|Processor||MediaTek P60 chipset|
|Memory||64GB ROM + 4GB/6GB RAM|
|Rear Camera||16MP + 2MP|
The grand launch event was held on 29th August and we can certify that it was a night of complete star-studded, awe-inducing amazement much like last year’s launch of the OPPO F7.
As always, Ali Kaakvi, Marketing Director of OPPO Pakistan took to the stage to start off the event and gave a brief explanation of OPPO’s national and international statistics.
Following that, Product Manager of OPPO Pakistan, Awais Khan took Mr Kaakvi’s place to unveil and explain the stunning OPPO F9’s features and specs in a way that left us eager to get our hands on OPPO F9’s of our own too.
At last, Mr George Long, CEO of OPPO Pakistan, took to the stage to present the F9 himself in the midst of well-suited fireworks. He wrapped up the event by thanking the audience in his speech and renowned Pakistani singer Asim Azhar took to the stage to end the night with an energetic performance.
The event was flooded by not only those from the smartphone industry but also media and famous celebrities. OPPO has always sought to incorporate fashion in its products and as such incorporated a fashion show into the event as well! The show featured a collection by fashion designer Ali Zeeshan who emphasised both himself and through his designs that this collection was inspired by the OPPO F9 colours.
