Every once in a while, people need to be introduced to good music. So in this article, we thought why not introduce everyone to Pakistan’s asset, everyone’s all-time favourite rock band, Roxen!
Roxen was formed back in September of 2002, Mustafa Zahid, Jawad and Omar. They came out with a demo of everyone’s favourite song, Toh Phir Aao after a couple of months of their band’s formation. In a period of one month, the song amassed about 65,000 downloads! Roxen started gaining recognition. On August 31st 2006, Roxen went international with their album Rozen-e-Deewar in the Middle East, India, USA and Canada.
As time went by, people developed a love for Roxen. In 2015 Roxen released a song called “Anjanay Raaston” for a drama serial of the same name. Not only has Roxen been a sensation in Pakistan but also in India. Mustafa Zahid has collaborated a couple of times with Bollywood to make songs that people are deeply in love with even today. In 2007, they produced a couple of songs for the movie Awarapan that people still request today in all of Roxen’s concerts. They sang the songs “Toh Phir Aao” and “Tera Mera Rishta” for the movie. They made the song “Khuda Kay Liye” for the movie “Runway” in 2009.
In 2012, they composed three songs for the Bollywood movie Blood Money, “Gunaah”, “Teri Yaadon Se” and “Jo Tere Sang”. Two more well-recognized songs are “Bhula Dena” from Aashiqui 2 and “Hum Jee Lenge” from Murder 3.
Mustafa Zahid and his band Roxen have worked very hard for where they are today and their fans totally adore them. We wish to hear more amazing music from them in the future!
