Smartphones are becoming a necessity to the average person day by day. This comes with the need of better and more advanced smartphones, and the different smartphone brands are trying their best to take the market for themselves. This includes huge organizations such as Apple, Samsung, Huawei, Mi, Nokia, OPPO, Tecno,Vivo, Alcatel etc.
According to statistics Huawei has just officially surpassed Apple and has secured its place as the second largest smartphone brand in the world. This is based in terms of the smartphone sales according to analysis firm, Counterpoint Research (June and July 2017).
The Possibilities are high for the company to take the market by just as much density for the month of August as well. However, as we all know, Samsung is still leading the boards as the Largest Smartphone Brand in the World.
This report also showed the top selling smartphones for June and July, but surprisingly even though Huawei had secured itself as the second largest brand, the top two spots were secured by Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Oppo’s R11 and A57 came 3rd and 4th, followed by Galaxy S8, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X, and
THE ANNUAL IPHONE REFRESH IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER, IT NEVERTHELESS UNDERSCORES THE RATE AT WHICH HUAWEI HAS BEEN GROWING. HOWEVER, A WEAK PRESENCE IN THE SOUTH ASIAN, INDIAN AND NORTH AMERICAN MARKETS LIMITS HUAWEI’S POTENTIAL IN THE NEAR-TO MID-TERM TO TAKE A SUSTAINABLE SECOND PLACE POSITION BEHIND SAMSUNG.
Adds Peter Richardson, Research Director of Counter point Research.
He Further Adds,
HUAWEI IS OVER-DEPENDENT ON ITS HOME MARKET CHINA WHERE IT ENJOYS THE LEADERSHIP POSITION AND OPERATOR-CENTRIC MARKETS IN EUROPE, LATIN AMERICA AND MIDDLE EAST.
Now, this shows that even though Huawei might be dominating the market as the second largest brand, it still needs a lot more work before it gets a better market momentum apart from the local market as it relies too much on its local market.
