25 tourists wiped away after bridge collapse in Neelum Valley

After a bridge collapsed in Neelum valley of Azad Kashmir on Sunday, more than 25 tourists swept away and minimum 5 of them stated dead.

The Kundal Shahi Bridge over the small stream of Jagrian in Neelum valley collapsed because of more than enough weight.

According to Mirza Zahid Hussain, the superintendent of police, we need to confirm the exact figure, but it is supposed to be between 20-25 people standing on the bridge when the bridge crumbled and collapsed.

An operation is started to rescue the tourists, with authorities having rescued at least four people till now.

According to the an official at control room in Muzaffarabad ,  three of the departed souls named as Shazaib, Nadeem and Abdul Rehman, he further added this is yet to confirm from which city they belong.

Eight students identified as Anam, Alina, Hamza, Sajid, Zubair, Rashid, Waleed all are residents of Faisalabad and Iqra Mazhar resident of Multan were rescued and had been admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital Athmuqam. They are stable he further added.

Neelum valley is one of the most beautiful and attractive location for tourists in AJK, thousands of tourists from all over the Pakistan come here to enjoy the beautiful scenes especially in the blazing heat.

According to locals they were boys and girls of a college that were touring the beautiful and scenic valley.

This area is however prohibited to foreign tourists because of security. Line of control is there between nuclear armed neighbor’s Pakistan and India.
